Key Facts & Policies
All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. One additional driver may be added free of charge. Any other additional driver is subject to an additional driver fee of 100 THB per day. Additional drivers can be added at any rental location and at any time during the rental. All additional drivers must appear at the rental counter, present their driving licence and sign the rental agreement. Spouses or domestic partners who meet the same age and driving licence requirements as the main driver can be added as additional drivers free of charge.
The minimum age requirement to rent all vehicles is 21. The maximum age to rent is 75. No additional fees apply to young drivers.
Basic Liability Coverage (BLC) is a mandatory coverage that is included in all rates. It provides the renter with coverage of the vehicle value against accidents or theft, and it meets or exceeds the minimum required third-party liability insurance against death, personal injury and property damage. Basic Liability Coverage comes with a standard excess of 8,000 THB for Economy, Compact and Intermediate cars; 10,000 THB for Crossovers and Mini Passenger Vans; 15,000 THB for all Standard and Full-Size cars, and Large Passenger Vans; and 30,000 THB for all other vehicles. The excess will be charged every time a vehicle is damaged, lost, not returned or stolen. Additional coverages are available for purchase. Basic Liability Coverage (BLC) is not insurance.
Vehicles cannot be driven in any other country. Unauthorised cross-border travel will result in a breach of contract and all coverages will be voided. Customers may incur a penalty charge and may be liable up to the full value of the car in case of theft or damage.
Ferry crossings with the vehicle are permitted within the territories of Thailand.
All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. The one-way fee varies based on car category, location and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, desired route and car category.
Customers can choose from the following options on how to pay for fuel.
We Refill — This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. The price per litre will be higher than local fuel prices.
Customer Refills — This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.
All major credit cards, issued by either Visa, Mastercard or American Express, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Pre-paid cards, virtual cards, cash and cheques are not accepted. Debit cards and bank transfers can be used at the end of the rental to pay for any outstanding balances, but the deposit must be secured with a credit card at the start of the rental. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 5,000 THB for all vehicle categories.
All drivers must present a valid driving licence. All foreign renters must provide a passport that is valid for at least six months. Local Thailand residents may present a passport or Thailand government-issued photo ID.
Overseas licences that are not easily identifiable as driving licences must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit/Licence or a certified English translation. Valid driving licences must have been held for a minimum of 12 months.
Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential driving tickets and fines. Renters who do not reside in the country of rental must provide proof of return travel, accommodation information and a local phone number.
We do not accept digital mobile driving licences in Thailand.
